SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The Utah Sheriffs' Association announced today that Kane County Sheriff Tracy Glover has been elected president. Glover, a seasoned law enforcement leader and former association vice president, will assume his duties immediately, leading the organization's efforts to enhance public safety throughout Utah.

“Sheriff Glover's deep commitment to community-driven law enforcement and proven leadership in Kane County make him the ideal person to guide the association into its next chapter,” said Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith, former president of the Utah Sheriffs' Association. “We are thrilled to have him at the helm, as his integrity, vision, and dedication to both the association and his fellow officers make him the perfect leader to carry forward the work we’ve accomplished.”

Glover will lead the executive team of the Utah Sheriffs' Association, providing leadership and governance while setting strategic goals and ensuring legal compliance. The elected team advocates for law enforcement policies, oversees training and public safety programs, and equips member sheriffs with essential resources and professional development opportunities.

The 2024 executive team is as follows:

  • Tracy Glover, President, Kane County Sheriff
  • Jared Rigby, 1st Vice President, Wasatch County Sheriff
  • Travis Tucker, 2nd Vice President, Duchesne County Sheriff
  • Steve Labrum, Secretary, Uintah County Sheriff
  • Mike Smith, Immediate Past President, Utah County Sheriff
  • Scott Burns, Executive Director, Piute County District Attorney

“This is an exceptionally talented group of sheriffs who will steer the association into the future,” said Executive Director Scott Burns. “Sheriff Glover is uniquely qualified to lead, with his extensive experience managing the complexities of law enforcement. His ability to navigate both the challenges of tourism and the needs of our local communities distinguishes him as a leader in ensuring safety across Utah’s diverse landscape.”

Glover will focus on four key goals throughout his presidency: expanding training and development for sheriffs and deputies, fostering collaboration among law enforcement agencies, supporting public safety initiatives to strengthen community relationships, and advocating for policies that that represent the interests of sheriffs and the communities they serve.

“I am truly honored to be elected by this distinguished group of sheriffs to serve as president of the Utah Sheriffs' Association,” said Glover. “It’s a privilege to work alongside such dedicated professionals, and the collaboration we foster within this organization is vital to supporting our communities and ensuring the safety and well-being of all Utahns.”
