SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The Utah Sheriffs Association has awarded scholarships to 18 students from nine Utah counties who are pursuing education and training in law enforcement, criminal justice and related public safety fields at accredited colleges and universities. Recipients include both recent high school graduates and students currently enrolled in higher education programs preparing for careers in public safety.
Scholarship applications were reviewed and recommended by county sheriffs, with final selections approved by the Utah Sheriffs Association Executive Committee. This year’s recipients represent the following Utah counties: Beaver, Davis, Juab, Piute, Salt Lake, Sevier, Tooele, Utah and Washington.
Established in 1986, the scholarship program is one of several initiatives supported by the association to invest in the next generation of law enforcement professionals. The program provides educational opportunities for individuals committed to serving their communities and pursuing careers in public safety.
“Investing in education and leadership development is one of the most important ways we can help prepare the next generation of law enforcement professionals,” said Sheriff Tracy Glover, president of the Utah Sheriffs Association. “Law enforcement agencies across Utah depend on dedicated individuals who are willing to serve their communities with professionalism and integrity, and we are proud to support students who are pursuing careers dedicated to public safety and service.”
The association also recognized its Honorary Members, including individuals, families and businesses across Utah who support the organization through annual contributions, sponsorships and ongoing community partnerships. Their support helps sustain programs that strengthen the law enforcement profession, including scholarships, professional training, leadership development and public safety outreach initiatives.
“Our Honorary Members come from communities across Utah and support this association because they believe in strong, professional law enforcement and safer communities,” Glover said. “Their involvement helps make programs like these scholarships possible and supports the future of public safety in Utah.”
