Sheriff Tracy Glover

President

Sheriff Tracy Glover has dedicated 27 years to law enforcement, including 10 years as the Sheriff of Kane County, Utah. A Kanab native, Sheriff Glover has spent his entire life serving and supporting the community where he was born and raised. His career in law enforcement began when he was inspired by local UHP troopers he befriended as a young man. He later joined the Kanab Police Department, where he gained experience in patrol, K-9 operations, and the drug task force.

Recognizing his leadership potential, then-Sheriff Lamont Smith invited Glover to join the Kane County Sheriff’s Office as Chief Deputy. For 15 years, Glover oversaw the day-to-day operations of the department, building a reputation for fairness, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. Upon Sheriff Smith’s retirement, Glover was elected Sheriff, a role in which he has served for nearly three terms. His vision and leadership have earned him the trust and respect of the residents of Kane County and his peers across the state.

Sheriff Glover has held leadership positions within both the Utah Sheriffs’ Association and the Western States Sheriffs’ Association, where he works alongside fellow sheriffs to improve law enforcement practices and build collaborative networks. His ability to foster strong relationships has been a hallmark of his career, from connecting with Kane County residents to collaborating with government officials and law enforcement leaders nationwide.

Beyond his professional life, Sheriff Glover is deeply committed to his family and community. He has been married to his wife, Debra, for 30 years, and together they have raised four children and now enjoy the blessings of six grandchildren. Sheriff Glover’s free time is often spent hunting, camping, and boating with his family, particularly at Lake Powell. He is also involved in youth and high school athletics, horse racing, youth rodeo, and church activities, contributing to the growth and enrichment of his community.
