Sheriff Travis Tucker brings over 26 years of dedicated law enforcement experience to his role as the 15th elected Sheriff of Duchesne County, first taking office in 2019. A lifelong public servant, Tucker began his career after graduating from the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training program in 1994 and was hired by the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office in 1995. Since then, he has held nearly every position in the office, including correction deputy, detective, lieutenant, and undersheriff.
Sheriff Tucker has consistently focused on the principles of prevention, community engagement, and cooperation throughout his career. He is also committed to shaping the next generation of officers as the Director of the UBTech Police Academy in Roosevelt, where he mentors and trains new recruits entering the field of law enforcement.
Under his leadership, the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office remains grounded in its mission to protect lives, property, and rights, uphold the law, and improve quality of life for all who live, work, and visit the county. Sheriff Tucker continues to support initiatives that enhance safety, education, and trust within the community he serves. He believes deeply in fostering a department that operates with integrity, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to the Constitution.
